The moment of truth eludes

More time for quiet reflection…

And the test of patience too

The hands of destiny controls the tempo…

I’m helpless in its grip

Tolerantly the prize I wait…

Remembering so clear the old adage:

Good things come indeed…

To those who uncomplainingly wait

Inventory of self…

Preparing for the challenge

One’s on the horizon…

Soon to be manifest

Put in order until then…

Praying for readiness and endurance

Unwearyingly in gear…

For the new day and a fresh start

Oh the waiting…

The hearty experience

…Is worth relating

We Dwell in a Tragic World

Everyone knows of it…
everyday we hear a bit
Tragedy is a living sadness…
surviving in a world of absolute madness

Breeding heartache and pain…
for crying peoples of every name
Time will heal the open wounds…
but again tragedy strikes homes

Hurting hearts cry out…
as tragedy moves continuously about
Still life onward proceeds…
as tragedy sows its painful deeds

Things could have been worse…
considering the tragic burst
Thank God for life…
in the mist of tragedy's strife

The morning rush hour
The afternoon rush hour
The evening rush hour
Oh, how sour!

It's a daily affair
Complicated by drivers' fear
Whence did all these vehicles come?
More everyday increase the sum

What is the resolution?
Simply more pollution!

To Sleep

I was sleeping
I was dreaming
It was a good rest
…and the dreams were a good set

When I am asleep
please do not disturb me
Sleeping is a transition in life
…that fuels the body for the next strife

To sleep is to be at peace
to awake is to be at war
so, why doesn't the world sleep more?

To sleep is to be still
to awake is to be un-chilled
The world needs a rest
…from the troubles that beset

Why can't we sleep more?
Instead of fighting around the clock wars
Do not worry about the enemy
sleep too, is their remedy!

Ready for success
…and the endowment of prosperity
Like the choirs in the nests above…
…singing about joy and the sweet life

I am sanctified
…by the grace and might of the good Lord
What more could I ask for?
I am filled with divine affluence
…to do great things while the sun approves
